The nineteen villages surrounding the “Lac de Grandlieu” created the AOC “Côtes de Grandlieu” in 1994 . This appellation is in a privileged location because the 9000 hectares of the “Lac de Grandlieu” have a microclimate. This Lake is the largest european lake to be situated on a plain. The AOC is divided into parcels and the vines must be at least 7 years old. These factors ensure a better quality of wines. Located in in north of the Lac de Grandlieu, the town of Bouaye enjoys a privileged exposure. Its south facing slopes and pebbly soil enables an early harvest.
